Job Title: Business Development/Sales Representative Overview We are seeking a Business Development Representative to expand our presence in the industrial engineering market. This role focuses on building client relationships, identifying new project opportunities, and supporting pursuits from initial engagement through proposal and contract. The ideal candidate is familiar with engineering and construction environments and comfortable working with facility owners, contractors, procurement teams, and engineering groups. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Strategy
Duration: Contract-to-hire (long-term)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Range: $32–50/hr (DOE)
Identify and pursue new clients and project opportunities within target markets
Track leads, opportunities, and client interactions in CRM
Analyze market conditions, project cycles, and internal capacity to guide pursuit strategy
Develop targeted outreach aligned with client timelines and company workload
Client & Relationship Management
Build and maintain relationships with industrial clients and key decision-makers
Serve as primary contact for new opportunities and client inquiries
Attend industry events, meetings, and conduct site visits (~30% travel)
Proposals & Pursuits
Lead RFP/RFQ responses from kickoff through submission
Prepare proposals, qualifications, scopes, and fee estimates
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to develop pricing and approach
Project Transition & Support
Support handoff of awarded work to project teams
Assist with early-stage planning and client coordination
Operations & Team Support
Maintain CRM data, client insights, and market intelligence
Develop presentations and marketing materials
Prepare reports on pipeline, performance, and market trends
Contribute to improving business development processes and tools
Qualifications
5–15+ years in business development, sales, or client management
Experience in engineering, construction, or related industries
Strong understanding of project delivery and pursuit processes
Experience with proposals, scopes, and budgeting
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Self-driven with the ability to manage opportunities independently
