Director of Sales

Position Summary

The Director of Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth, gross profit performance, client retention, and market expansion within an assigned region or market. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this senior leader serves as the strategic and operational owner of client relationships, business development initiatives, and account executive performance.

The Director of Sales leads a team of Account Executives and is accountable for developing and executing market growth strategies, expanding existing client relationships, securing new accounts, and delivering staffing and consulting solutions across multiple service offerings. This role requires a proven sales leader who can build high-performing teams, develop talent, establish executive-level customer relationships, and consistently achieve revenue and profitability objectives.

The successful candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, serving as both a leader and individual contributor responsible for growing market share and strengthening ConsultNet's position as a trusted technology workforce and consulting partner.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth & Market Leadership

  • Own and achieve market revenue and gross profit targets.

  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans to increase market share and expand ConsultNet's presence within assigned territories.

  • Drive growth across all service offerings, including:

  • IT Staffing

  • Contract-to-Hire

  • Direct Hire

  • Project and Professional Services

  • Managed Services

  • Identify emerging market opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on industry trends and customer demand.

  • Establish annual, quarterly, and monthly business plans aligned with company objectives.

Business Development & Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key clients and strategic prospects.

  • Lead new business acquisition efforts and personally engage in high-value sales opportunities.

  • Expand existing customer relationships through cross-selling and multi-service solution adoption.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term client loyalty.

  • Lead contract negotiations and complex business discussions with client executives.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop high-performing Account Executives.

  • Establish performance expectations, coaching plans, and accountability measures.

  • Foster a culture of growth, collaboration, urgency, and client-centric execution.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and career development planning.

  • Develop future leaders within the organization and create succession plans for critical roles.

Strategic Account Expansion

  • Drive account penetration strategies within existing customers.

  • Partner with recruiting, delivery, and practice leadership teams to identify opportunities for growth.

  • Increase wallet share across key accounts through consultative selling and strategic relationship management.

  • Establish executive business reviews with major clients to strengthen partnerships and identify expansion opportunities.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators across the market.

  • Ensure effective pipeline management and forecasting accuracy.

  • Maintain visibility into account health, consultant performance, and customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with recruiting and delivery teams to optimize fill rates and service quality.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience within technology staffing, workforce solutions, consulting services, or professional services organizations.

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue and gross profit targets.

  • Demonstrated success leading Account Executives or sales organizations.

  • Experience managing enterprise and mid-market client relationships.

  • Strong business development and consultative selling capabilities.

  • Experience building and executing regional or market growth strategies.

  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development skills.

  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of revenue, gross profit, and operating metrics.
